In 2021, we left the city behind—four kids, a caravan, and a dream—to begin again on 54 acres of untouched forest by the sea. What started as a wild leap of faith became the heart of Wildwood Eco Retreat: a place designed to bring people back to nature, back to themselves, and back to each other.
Built completely off-grid and powered by the rhythms of the earth, Wildwood is where simplicity meets luxury. Each of our six safari tents tells its own story through thoughtful design and detail — from velvet textures and outdoor baths beneath the stars, to the quiet hum of the forest that surrounds you. No two tents are the same, yet every one invites the same feeling — stillness, beauty, connection.
Our vision has always been simple: to create moments that last long after you’ve gone home. Whether you’re here to rest, explore, or reconnect, we’re committed to making every stay something you’ll never forget.
Thank you for choosing Wildwood

We’ve included plush robes, slippers, and extra towels for your Steam Lodge sessions, along with a seasonal fire starter pack and ear plugs (because nature can be lively at night!).

Pamper yourself with eco-luxe shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Just bring your toothbrush and season-appropriate clothes — we’ve got the rest covered.
Is There Electricity?
Yes! Our eco tents are solar-powered with plug sockets throughout.
How Do We Keep The Eco Tents Cool + Warm?
Our eco tents are thoughtfully designed to keep you comfortable in every season — combining sustainability with luxury. Stay cozy with our designer EcoSmart Fire, which runs on clean-burning bioethanol for instant, smokeless heat. Warm air-conditioning is also available from sunrise to sunset (powered by solar). When AC isn’t available, the eco fire and plush bedding will keep you toasty.
In warmer months; Roll-down canvas walls invite the breeze in, while high-powered fans help circulate fresh air. Air-conditioning is available during the day for extra cooling when needed.
What is The Steam Lodge?
The Steam Lodge is a sanctuary for relaxation and wellness, offering an ice bath, sauna, and a scenic outdoor shower. Open from sunrise to sunset, it's powered by the sun and centrally located to enhance your Wildwood experience. Booking is essential.
What Should I Bring to The Steam Lodge?
Please bring a towel (extras are provided), a water bottle, and your bathers. Before your session, it’s very important to read the terms and conditions and tick the confirmation box before entering The Steam Lodge. These will be sent to you via email and text upon booking. Then, relax, unwind, and enjoy.
Are There Kangaroos?
Yes! Wildwood is home to kangaroos, birds, and other wildlife. You'll often see kangaroos grazing and jumping around, especially in the mornings and late afternoons. We don’t allow driving on the property to give guests the experience of being in nature and to keep our kangaroos safe. Please do not feed them—it can harm their health. Simply observe, take photos, and let nature thrive.
How Close Are The Various Amenities?
To maintain the nature park feel, there is no driving on the property beyond the designated parking area. Parking is a 2-5 minute walk from the eco bungalows, which are spaced 40-60 meters apart for privacy. Gorilla pull-along buggies are provided to help with your belongings and we have nature paths to make this easy for you. If you need assistance, we have a golf buggy and will gladly take you to your accommodation. The Steam Lodge is centrally located for convenience.
Is the Water Safe to Drink?
Our water is drawn from deep underground aquifers, including the Yarragadee aquifer, which stores fresh groundwater formed from rainfall over many years and supplies much of the South West’s drinking water.
At Wildwood, the water is treated through a rigorous multi-stage filtration system, including high-grade filters and UV sterilisation, ensuring it is clean, safe, and great-tasting throughout the retreat.
Can We Feed The Cows?
Our resident cows, Woody and Whiskey, are friendly and enjoy being fed. Carrots are their favourite treat.
